Traditional Midwifery

Traditional Midwifery is about more than pregnancy and birth. It is about menarche, marriage and mating, about birth and mothering. It is about family well being and harmony. It is about healing over the life cycle, birth, death and beyond. Traditionally the midwife was on call for all these things because she held the authority of a mother. This is what I aspire to in my work as a Birth Keeper, returning birth to mothers and families. It is a mother that I offer my services. It’s that simple.
